Beyond the Bid & Auction Essentials

Auctions can be an exciting way to acquire or sell items, ranging from construction equipment and classic cars to real estate. However, navigating the auction world involves more than just spotting valuable items. It’s essential to understand the specific terms and conditions associated with each auction type to ensure a smooth and successful experience.

Terms are not one-size-fits-all; they vary widely across our different types of sales, affecting both buyers and sellers in distinct ways. The variation in terms stems from the diverse nature of auctions themselves. Each type of auction serves different purposes, involves different kinds of items, and operates under different sets of rules. These variations are tailored to address the unique needs of each auction format, whether it’s a live, online, charity, or real estate.

We have compiled a shortened overview of terms for our OrbitBid auctions:

Payment

All payments required within 2 days of auction. Payments are NOT accepted at the auction location. We encourage online payments due to the 2-day payment requirement. However, if you choose to pay in person, payments are accepted at our Byron Center and Wayland Repocast locations.

Removal & failure to remove

Photo ID will be scanned during transaction at the time of pickup. We respect your privacy, and we value you as a customer. The photo ID requirement is a security measure to document the actual person picking up item(s) from our facility. The intent of the requirement is to protect you and us, ensuring the items make it to the winning bidders.

Extended pickup hours available for 2nd day of removal by APPOINTMENT ONLY! This is available only for prepaid invoices.

Items NOT removed within auction terms will be considered abandoned and forfeited

Buyer is responsible for DISASSEMBLY, LOADING, PACKAGING & SHIPPING of items purchased. Auction staff will not have tools available for disassembly. Please bring any necessary tools with you at time of pickup. Orbitbid.com does not package or ship items. Once items leave our premises, we are no longer responsible.  Be sure to insure your shipment with the carrier.

Regardless of the auction format, it’s crucial to thoroughly read and understand the terms and conditions before you participate. Each auction style has its own specifics, and missing these details can result in unforeseen expenses or issues. Buyers should be aware of the fees, payment procedures, and return policies. Sellers need to know how their items will be managed and what fees they may face. As the auction environment evolves, staying updated on these terms will help make your bidding experience both pleasant and successful.
