Why You Should Update Your Farm Equipment at a Farm Machinery & Tractor Auction

The Benefits of Agricultural Auctions

Let’s just say it. Farming equipment is expensive. Whenever you invest in a new piece of machinery you shell out a lot of capital on an asset that will depreciate rather quickly. Luckily, turning to manufacturers isn’t the only option that you have to update your equipment. Agricultural equipment auctions are a fantastic way to replace your machinery. Made more popular than ever with the current market prices, auctions allow farmers to purchase quality machines for less than they would pay at a dealership. While this should be enough to sell you on agricultural auctions already, there are plenty of additional reasons why you should consider an auction the next time you are looking to update your machinery.

There are a wide variety of options:

Auctions will have many different types of equipment from a wide range of manufacturers, allowing you to compare the machinery easily. You don’t need to worry about traveling around to tons of different dealerships to find the equipment that best fits your need or has the lowest price. You can evaluate each piece and decide what you would be willing to pay. You set your price – not a dealership.

Auction prices can be cheaper than renting:

Many farmers rent different pieces of equipment depending on the season. They may not have a large enough production to justify owning a piece, or don’t have the funds available to purchase every piece of machinery that they need to complete each planting and harvesting season. However, renting will start to add up over time. In the same way that you are temporarily spending money when renting an apartment – over the long run it will probably be cheaper for you to buy a house where you will be able to recover your money if you chose to sell it. Since the prices of our equipment are below the general market prices, it may be worth it for you to directly buy a piece of machinery. You may even be able to rent your machinery out to other farmers in your area!

Buy replacement parts

If your equipment is holding out for the time being, but you know you are going to have to replace some parts in the future, consider buying them in an auction. Many auctions include attachments, accessories, and general parts of various equipment that sellers no longer need or want. Pick up different parts that you want to keep on hand, so you don’t have to worry if your equipment breaks down. Sometimes we sell equipment that isn’t in working condition. If you have the same machine in your fleet, it might be advantageous for you to purchase the machine to use for replacement parts in the future. There are a wide variety of things that you can buy besides full working pieces of equipment at an auction – you never know what you might find!

Start or expand your production:

Like we said before, equipment is expensive. If you are considering starting your own farm or increasing your production capabilities an auction is a great place to get equipment for it. You don’t have to drop a ton of money on the best and newest machines, you can test out your capacity for growth and then build up from there. Then you can check back into our future auctions to purchase more equipment to fully expand!
